expecting the unexpected

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

In November I was ranting and confused on what I felt was an unfair situation I found myself in.

It’s sort of okay. The Board gave me an unexpected bonus. A much needed boost to our almost-nil savings.

It’s the beginning of the year so this is really a welcome news and I guess an expected action from my bossing after my discussion with them before December.

Money is tight everywhere. Every day there’s a company that let of x-numbers of employees or businesses that folded.

I know how lucky I am to receive a “gratuity”. I really shouldn’t complain but I hope they’d still review and finalise my actual pay.

wrong kind of snow

Yesterday the news said the cold wind from Russia is blowing across SouthEast England. It started to snow lightly and my son was even saying he’s so happy about it.

This morning we woke up and the snow was a foot-deep at least. No school. The trains are chaotic and the public bus are suspended in London.

This is the thickest and most consistent snow I’ve seen in my 8-years here in London. According to the news, this is the thickest in the SouthEast in 18 years.

Well… now at least pogiBoy’s experienced a semi-proper snow. Not the melt-in-an-hours’ time dud.

One-by-one emails started arriving in my crackberry announcing that such and such person will be working from home. I followed suit, there’s no point wasting time when I can work in my warm, comfy home.

We built a snowman before I sat down to work. I want to make it bigger, but it’s hardwork! Got tips?
