27.MarA day in Legoland Windsor

It was grey, wet and freezing but Kelvin was not complaining. I don’t think he registered any discomfort. It was always “Where next?” after each ride or stop. You ask him to pose for pictures and his face will be in your direction and his eyes looking somewhere else.

Legoland Windsor is perfect for our little man. Most of the rides were for kids his age (or height). It was perfect hubby and I because we went solo, that is no family friends were there. Else, we’d have trouble with Kelvin wanting to go on rides he cannot possibly join with the big boys.

We joined a coach day trip again. It saved us the trouble of going into Central London & getting a rail. It also saved us a few pounds on the park’s admission. Purchased on the day a ticket to Legoland is worth £30-£36. I paid £21-£26 for the coach fare which included the admission, too. We got there a few minutes past the opening time (10am) and stayed for 6 hours. The fee was definitely worth it, no hassle on the tube and rail journey, no need to wait for the shuttle bus to/from the train station.

Dad found his lost family

Kelvin jumped out of his skin when the dog suddenly “barked”

The trademark Miniland was huge. Since it was freezing we didn’t want to spend so long wandering across the “globe”. That’s the famous gherkin building in the City, well I tried to look for my office building but it wasn’t famous enough to merit even a single lego block.

Grumbling that we’re not going to the Firefighting… Took 2 mins to realise he’s going to “pilot” the balloon! Way better than operating a hose — not really but that’s how we psyched him.

Kelvin enthusiastically pulling on the rope to make our balloon go higher, which it did. I thought it was pure gimmick.

A test for every father who queued even while it rained! I was laughing inwardly because some of the dads can’t operate the two “joysticks” meant to move the digger. There was one man who actually threw his hand in the air and said his daughter is not getting it! Yeah right, his wife turned to me and said “clearly there’s an art to this thing”… When it was my boys’ turn, hubby managed well (o ha construction worker ang dating!) and Kelvin was even licking his lips as he swings his legs.

The bigger kids have a bigger course, the toddlers get the L-Drivers. The motorcars have one pedal they step on and then it’s just managing corners — and bumps. I was amazed Kelvin managed his left & right turns well. The only disappointment for me was my video-taking skills. Because our camcorder’s conked out, I’ve been using my digicam which keeps on flipping stops recording.

Fairy Tale Mini-brook took us to Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Red Riding Hood’s journey (thankfully no wolf-gutting scene), 3 Little Pigs and their chinny-chin-chins, Hansel & Gretel…

there was Ali Baba’s cave which curiously housed Aladdin & his genie.

Knight’s Kingdom housed a rotisserie that’s selling the dryest roast chicken I ever had in my life. But I’m thankful we didn’t have to pay too much. Small mercies…

The “Castle” has a bigger rollercoaster, but outside is this toddler-version. Kelvin and I are sat in front because the operator said the smallest kids go in either end and middle… dunno why. Kelvin is both excited and scared of the thought we’ll do this again.

The pretties ferris wheel I’ve ever seen. We rode in the boot with a Lego-man that Kelvin keeps calling “jason”.

What a lovely place to go to! I’m sure the children there enjoyed what the place has to offer. Meron nga dati Lego exhibit sa isang mall, haping-happy kids ko, what more with that place
