25.Julover due qualifications

Had a look see at a global-company’s career site a few weeks ago & landed an interview for a Test Manager role with a Senior Executive. The place looks great as expected of one of the leading IT brand names in the world. The interview was intense but fun, we connected on several levels. I asked a few intelligible questions about the role & company career progression. But if I am to be honest I don’t think I will get the job.

They’re looking for big named-commercial tools in your belt which I do not have (because most companies I worked for preferred obscure cheap tools). And also he pointed out that most of their employees come to them very early from Undergraduate programs & mature to managerial positions. They rarely hire external sources with established careers. But he said they’re not negatives against me just a few points they consider. Yeah sure.

I was almost tempted to ask why they called me in the first place. But kept the comment to myself as I enjoy the calm of the professionally designed office interiors. I did enjoy the interview & somehow brought memories back of my much-loved Ortigas office.

If they called for you, then that must be a sign that they are interested, right? I’m sure you’d get it if it’s good for you. That’s actually how the world usually operates. :-)

Oo nga tito rolly… Since di pa naman ako desperate to get a new job, then “que cera cera” (tama ba yun?).

    Thanks for dropping-by

You’ll never know! Tito Rolls is right, if they’re not the least interested they won’t bother calling you for an interview. The fact that you connected with them and it did not end after just 5 minutes, bodes well for you. It may be a long shot but at least you tried and won’t have regrets later on what might have been. Huwag kang masyadong masilaw sa magandang opis, tignan mo yung bottom line ng payslip mo at kung magiging masaya ka doon.
