06.Decexciting! exciting!
We dragged our extended family down to Earl’s Court to frolic in the man-made Santa Land. Yes we succumbed to commercialisation & bought the over-priced ticket to see a fat guy in a suit. It was worth it!
My son’s lack of afternoon nap keeps on threatening to become a tantrum. But thankfully he was enjoying everything he saw that the tears never came. He was easily distracted to cry. And he even managed to hug Santa! But he also grabbed a kid’s balloon. He’s in the ‘me/mine-stage’.
Now that’s finished it’s time to start the Xmas shopping — for food & gifts. I dread it. It’s difficult to find time now. There’s no Woolworths or Marks & Spencers (i like them because they have 3for2 offers) near enough to do any shopping during lunchbreaks (unlike last year @ my former place). So it has to be done this weekend & the next.
Christmas decorations needs to be started, too. But first I think my husband needs a push to get in the attic. I’ve been telling (read: nag) him to get up there for weeks now. But I’ll put off doing the tree until the week of the 25th. Otherwise my toddler will, either:
(a) rip the tree & decors apart;
(b) get buried under the tree itself;
(c) all of the above.
Lots to do & the air is thick with excitement & anxiety. The plastics are being swiped left & right. The high streets are thick with people, the Mayor of London will probably impose a fast & slow lane again.
I’ll probably be in veggie state on Boxing Day.
